GATE SuperSaturday
Students across the district who are part of the Gifted and Talented Education (GATE) program in the third, fourth, and fifth grades come together to compete in teams with tasks that may include constructing ramps and cars, piloting robots through obstacle courses, and solving word puzzles.
Working together, the students test and retest their inventions and solve problems to meet the objectives of each challenge. The ultimate goal is to win the "Einstein Award," which recognizes the team with the highest marks in engineering, coding, and team collaboration. Sixth grade volunteers assist with coaching and cheer on the younger competitors.
