Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) is an evidence-based, tiered framework for supporting students' behavioral, academic, social, emotional, and mental health. PBIS improves social emotional competence, academic success, and school climate. It is a way to create positive, predictable, equitable and safe learning environments where everyone thrives.
PBIS emphasizes five inter-related elements: equity, systems, data, practices and outcomes.
Pendleton scholars are encouraged to: Practice Safety, Act Responsibly, Work Hard and Show Respect. Our School Expectation Matrix provides our scholars with an understanding of expected behaviors based on location. When scholars exhibit expected behaviors, they earn PAW tickets, which they can use to "buy" PBIS rewards, which include fun activities like Spin the Wheel for Prizes or Game Day. Below are Pendleton's School Expectations, the School Expectation Matrix and the PAW Tickets Menu.
